What's your favourite moment from being a student here?
Last year I joined Barts Women's FC with no real football skills, met some wonderful people and played my first match against King's (GKT). Minutes before the game I had no clue about formations and positions, however my peers supported me and the rush from playing an eleven a side was remarkable! That was when I truly knew what the word team meant.
What's something you've done that you're proud of?
Reading about Yemen experiencing the worst humanitarian crisis made me want to do something about it. I could not wait for an opportunity to fall, so I decided to make one and set up a 10km run, partnered with a charity and organised a JustGiving page. I managed to run over 13.4 km in an hour raising over £1,200 in the hopes some families could be supported.
What is a problem facing students and how do you propose to fix it?
Since the pandemic our mental health has definitely been affected from loneliness to worries about losing our loved ones. I would like to raise awareness on the vast mental health support we already have and utilise social media to help provide support through management techniques and evidence based advice. My door will always be open to my peers to talk, to rant and everything in between.
