What's your favourite moment from being a student here?
It's hard to choose but one that is most recent and springs to mind is after a panel talk 'Being a Womxn in the NHS' that was hosted by BL WIHSOC. It sparked a really honest and open conversation between Barts womxn and the speakers; it was just beautiful and I felt like different womxn from all walks of life really came together and supported each other as they discussed difficult topics.
What's something you've done that you're proud of?
I'm proud that I have been able to balance my time between medicine and other jobs and society work. This year, especially, has been very valuable and equipped me with lots of skills and experiences; I've met a bunch of inspirational people who make me want to strive to achieve my best in everything I do.
What is a problem facing students and how do you propose to fix it?
The lack of material on gender differences- biological, psychological and social- in the MBBS curriculum and the lack of awareness by students on these issues is a problem. I want to work with the liberation officers to lobby the university to diversify the curriculum and ensure it is intersectional and empowering to ALL students.
