Candidate for Preclinical Rep: James Tavner
The School of Medical and Dental Sciences Pre-Clinical (Medicine) Representative shall seek feedback from and represent students who are studying in Part 1 or Part 2 of the MBBS program or a foundation level of a medicine-related course in Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. They are also responsible for co-chairing the Junior SSLC (Student Staff Liaison Committee), supporting the Vice President Barts and The London and encouraging students in the faculty to participate and engage with the Students’ Union.

What's your favourite moment from being a student here?
Having only joined the BL community recently, I have loved how welcoming everyone is and the amount of advice and support we are given by the older years. I have especially enjoyed immersing myself in a wide range of social and academic societies.
What's something you've done that you're proud of?
What is a problem facing students and how do you propose to fix it?
One problem I have noticed in my first year here is a lack of study spaces around both the West Smithfield and the Whitechapel campus. I feel that these spaces are crucial to the student body. I want to work with other members of the BLSA board to identify and renovate new and existing areas to ensure there is space for everyone with the facilities necessary for a comfortable working environment.
