What's your favourite moment from being a student here?
I created so many unforgettable memories in the past 2.5 years here at Barts. I cannot pick a single moment as my favourite, so I will choose the most recent one - Tennis Tour 2019
What's something you've done that you're proud of?
I am very proud for studying medicine at Barts. Not only because of the difficulty of the degree but also because I am doing this in my second language. I am especially proud and happy with the way I balance my academic and social lives.
What is a problem facing students and how do you propose to fix it?
I believe that a huge problem is that students sometimes feel unheard. I want to listen to all the opinions and suggestions of the students (no matter how ‘big’ or ‘small’). Furthermore, I am planning to keep students updated about any discussions or any actions taken regarding their issues.
Sidhant Singh
What's your favourite moment from being a student here?
My favourite moment from my time at Barts is without a doubt Mummies and Daddies as a fresher. Having moved thousands of miles from home and living alone for the first time, I just felt so welcome and supported that I forgot all my stresses. That was the first time was experienced the true community at Barts. It showed me just how much everyone here cares for each other and is what inspired me to run in the elections
What's something you've done that you're proud of?
As Pre-Clinical Rep this year, I was most proud of the EPM (decile calculation) change. With over 4 months of effort a very engaging student consultation was conducted. It showed me that not only do I have the skills to carry out complex policy changes but also the dedication to persevere through exams and work while working on making lasting change in our community for our community.
What is a problem facing students and how do you propose to fix it?
I think one of the biggest issues the student body faces in the coming years is a lack of communication and information from the university and medical school. With new factors coming in such as the MLA, changes to EPM as well as changes to student intake. I plan to continue advocating for students while working to achieve certain guarantees from management to ensure student satisfaction and empowerment.
