Liam Nicholson & Simi Lakhani, candidates for ENTs Officer
What would student life be without events and activities? The Entertainments Officers organise BLSA events, and liaise with other elected officers and staff to coordinate and promote events and activities to students.
The Entertainments Officers also convene and coordinate the Barts and The London Entertainments Committee. This is a non-representative position and does not sit on Student Council.
What's your favourite moment from being a student here?
We have so many! However, a few stand out for us, Merger in 2019 (our first year) was incredible, but we have loved all the events at Barts, from weekly tables to Netball Ball and Association Dinner. These events have allowed us to become really involved in the BL community
What's something you've done that you're proud of?
We are both proud of contributions to student life at BL. Simi's work with BL Project Play as treasurer this year, changing the way that sessions are delivered is a huge achievement. Liam's time as Sports Officer and both Men's and Mixed Captain in Water Polo are all things he is proud of and he has worked tirelessly with the sports clubs this year in his board role.
What is a problem facing students and how do you propose to fix it?
We believe one of the main issues facing students is accessibility to events. We plan on working with and advertising to all groups, including allied courses, commuters, and the many cultural societies that exist here at BL so that everyone can be included in the fantastic events that we can offer and join the world's best university community.
